Michigan

Fresh fish, seasonal fruits, award-winning wines, and delicious baked goods are just some of my favorites:

Big Bob's Pizza - East Grand Rapids, MI
Perhaps the best pizza East of Chicago. My favorite is the 14" Briazzo. For $21.65 you get up to five toppings and a mountain of melted cheese. Really, it's that good.

Barb's Bakery - Northport, MI
Famous cinnamon twists, and out of this world doughnuts. All affordably priced with a cup of coffee. It's the kind of place where locals gather every morning. (pictured above in the center is the Boston Cream; perhaps the best I have ever eaten)

The Butler - Saugatuck, MI
On the waterfront in downtown Saugatuck. Famous hamburgers including the Open Faced Butler Burger; my personal favorite.

Fishtown - Leland, MI
Carlson's Fish Market - sells the freshest fish including smoked fish and fish sausages.
Village Cheese Shanty - over 60 advertised cheeses, local fruit products, and fresh sandwiches.

Toledo

Some of my favorites restaurants include:

The Beirut - the best Middle-Eastern food in Toledo. I suggest you share several appetizers with friends or dining partners. It's all good. (featured in this photo is Fatoosh, Hummus, Grape Leaves, and their complimentary freshly baked pita)

Barry Bagels - Toledo's original bagel deli. My favorite is the corned beef with Havarti cheese on a warm garlic bagel (as pictured above). Runner up; Turkey Pastrami.

Tony Packo's - authentic Hungarian foods and Toledo's most famous restaurant. It's a legend in the Hot Dog world. Also recommended is the stuffed cabbage (pictured top right). Jamie Farr is their biggest fan. He made the restaurant famous during the television series MASH.
